Resource Name: PrimaryPad
URL: http://primarypad.com
Uses: Brainstorm and Organize, Collect Feedback, Write Together, Respond and Reflect
Description: Similar in use and function to the old Etherpad, Primary Pad allows multiple users to type on one document. Their contributions appear in different colored highlight colors, so you can easily tell who added what test. Another neat feature is the Time Slider, which allows a viewer to replay (at any speed) the creation of the contents, seeing who added what text at what time. See the intro video below for a nice summary of its features.
Is PrimaryPad not working, or are you looking for a different venue? Try one of these:
TitanPad is a cleaner, less bells-and-whistles site that accomplishes the same exact tasks, and might be better for middle and high schoolers.

Piratepad is another (this link opens into your unique and private pad; invite others to join).
A more formalized writing experience can be created with Protagonize, a site developed for the very purpose of collaborative story writing. Be sure to create your own groups for the classroom to keep students from "wandering" into other stories.
